Enloe Volunteer Services pledges $500,000 to Cardiovascular Care Center campaign
The gift shop might sell a lot of small items, but as with any fundraising effort, every penny counts. Get well cards, magazines, foods and drinks sold in the hospital's gift shop do more than just sustain visitors, patients and employees at Enloe Medical Center. Proceeds from this popular shop, managed and staffed entirely by Enloe Volunteer Services, help support the medical center's programs and critically needed services.
Most recently, Enloe Volunteer Services donated $500,000 to the Enloe Foundation over a five-year period for the construction of the future Cardiovascular Care Center.
"We've all been touched by heart disease in one way or another," says Ronnie Campbell, a 16-year patient ambassador and past president of the Enloe Volunteer Services board. "There's a real need in our north state region to expand and improve our cardiovascular care facilities and equipment to meet the growing demand for these services."
As the largest volunteer group in town, Enloe's 400 volunteer ambassadors devote thousands of service hours each year at the hospital and other Enloe facilities in town. The gift shop is Enloe Volunteer Services' No. 1 fundraiser.
When the volunteer board heard about the Cardiovascular Care Center campaign, they unanimously agreed that supporting this cause is one of the best ways to help with our community's health care needs.
The new center will provide a cutting-edge facility inside the main hospital with expanded treatment areas, newer technologies, improved patient access and a much-needed family lounge. It will also help the community in recruiting the next generation of cardiovascular physicians to serve
It is Enloe Volunteer Services' hope that this five-year commitment of funds will inspire others to choose Enloe as their charity of choice to fund this future center.

The 31st Annual Enloe Foundation Golf Tournament was held Friday, September 23, 2016, at Butte Creek Country Club. Since 1986 the Enloe Foundation has raised over $2 million to support Enloe Medical Center's programs, equipment and facilities to better serve our patients and the regional community. Proceeds from this year's tournament will support the much-anticipated future Cardiovascular Care Center at Enloe Medical Center and the Golf Tournament Nursing Scholarship.
